Seventy-one rooms

Rooms

The house has six floors and no two are quite alike: ceilings get lower as you climb, windows narrow, and the last flight ends under the roof. Four room types make up the whole building.

A hotel double bed with a padded headboard, bedside lamps lit and a curtained window beside it

Seeblick Lake Room

At the front of the house on the second to fourth floors, with windows facing the water across the promenade. Two tall sashes frame a writing table, and the shutters shut tight against the morning sun.

  • Bed180 cm double
  • Floors2 to 4
  • OutlookLake and promenade
  • BathTub with shower

Quai Balcony Room

On the third and fourth floors, where the façade steps back, each room has a stone balcony wide enough for two chairs and a small table. The doors open fully and the railing is the original ironwork.

  • Size27 m² plus balcony
  • Bed180 cm double
  • Floors3 and 4
  • OutlookLake, side-on
  • BathWalk-in shower

Turm Corner Room

These are the largest rooms in the house, one at each end of the second to fifth floors. Windows on two walls look onto the lake on one side and the old town roofs on the other, so the light follows you round the room through the day.

  • Size31 m²
  • Bed200 cm double
  • Floors2 to 5
  • OutlookLake and old town
  • BathTub and separate shower

Dachstube Attic Room

On the sixth floor under the eaves, with a sloping ceiling and a dormer level with the rooftops. It is the smallest room type and the quietest. The lift reaches this floor, while the stair stops one half-flight below.

  • Size21 m²
  • Bed160 cm double
  • Floor6
  • OutlookRooftops, lake in part
  • BathWalk-in shower

What is the same throughout

  • Fittings

A natural stone bathroom with heated towel rail, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, a safe big enough for a 15-inch laptop, and a kettle with Swiss tea and ground coffee.

  • Quiet

The promenade side has secondary glazing, the corridors are carpeted, and no rooms sit directly above the dining room. Housekeeping won't knock before ten unless you ask.

  • Service

Turndown is available from 18:00 on request. Laundry handed in before nine comes back the next working day, and the floor pantry can have ironing done within two hours.

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Later departures are usually possible, so ask the desk the evening before.
