Cookie Policy

The short version

At the time of writing this site sets no cookies. It writes two values into your browser's local storage, both put there by the site itself and neither sent to any server. Analytics and advertising are denied before the first line of the page runs and stay denied unless you press Accept.

The two keys in use

KeyKindWhat it holdsLife
lu_age_ok Local storage The single word yes, written when you confirm that you are 18 or over, so the age panel does not appear again on this device. Until cleared
lu_consent Local storage The word accepted or the word declined, recording the choice you made in the cookie bar. Until cleared

Both are read and written inside a try and catch, so if your browser refuses local storage, in a private window for instance, the site carries on and asks again next time.

What Consent Mode v2 does here

Every page in this site runs a short block in the head, before the stylesheet and before any other script, which sets the four Google consent signals to denied: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage. It also sets a wait of 500 milliseconds, so that if a tag is ever added it waits for your answer before firing.

Pressing Accept sends a consent update granting those four signals. Pressing Decline sends the same update keeping all four denied. Either way the answer is written to lu_consent and the bar closes. Because no measurement tag is loaded at present, the practical effect today is that your choice is remembered.

What would be set if a tag were added

If Google Analytics 4 is installed at some point and you accept, it would set _ga and a property-specific _ga_<container>, both first-party cookies with a life of about two years, used to tell one visit from another. If Google Ads conversion measurement is installed and you accept, it would set _gcl_au on this domain, with a life of about 90 days. If you decline, neither would be set, and neither would appear before you answer.

Changing your mind

The footer of every page carries a Cookie settings control. Press it, the bar reappears, and the choice you make replaces the old one straight away. You can also clear site data for this domain in your browser, which removes both keys and returns the site to asking.

Blocking cookies in the browser

  • Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data, then Manage Exceptions or Clear Data.
  • Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies, and See all site data and permissions for a single domain.
  • Safari: Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data, and Block all cookies for the stricter setting.
  • Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions, Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Blocking storage for this domain costs you only the memory of your two answers.

What is not used

The site uses no social network pixel of any kind (Meta, LinkedIn insight tag, X or TikTok), no fingerprinting of any sort, no session recording or heat maps, and no chat widget. It uses no advertising network beyond the Google tags described above, and those are not installed today. Fonts, scripts, stylesheets and images are all served from this domain and none is fetched from another host, so no third party sees your request.
